Jan Snel receives the Golden Brick for the Safety Unit. The Safety Unit is a unique concept that is used for safety instructions and contributes to greater safety awareness. This unique concept is now being rewarded.

Jan Snel has developed the Safety Unit for its projects. The Safety Unit simulated situations in practice that pose the highest risks at the construction site. For example, there are dolls wearing safety clothing where one must discover errors or safety risks. A number of safety codes have been established for situations in practice in order to increase the awareness of all employees (both their own and that of third parties) regarding safety at our construction site. Employees first receive a presentation with safety instructions and then they have to carry out a number of assignments in practice.

The Safety Unit was set up for the first time at a construction project for temporary homes in Groningen. The concept turned out to work very well and generated many positive responses. Jan Snel has just received the Golden Brick from Centrum Veilig Wonen for the extra step that Jan Snel is taking to achieve safety at a construction site

Janneke Klement of NAM’s structural reinforcement team: “It’s a very good way to raise safety awareness among employees. These types of initiatives certainly contribute to the goal that everyone comes home safely and healthily, day in, day out.”

The Safety Unit fits within Jan Snel’s safety program. Jan Snel stands for Safe Together. For employees, this means keeping an eye on their own safety, but also on the safety of others. Because safety is a joint responsibility.
